Albuquerque Day of the Dead Celebration

In Old Town, our celebrations!

And one of the greatest is Dia de Los Muertos (Day of the Dead)! Day of the Dead is a holiday that reunites the living and dead. It is unlike any other holiday because instead of mourning our departed loved ones, we instead celebrate their life and all that they created and accomplished!

Church Street Cafe is celebrating the Day of the Dead all week long with Old Town traditions from October 28 – November 5.

On October 28, we will be kicking off the celebrations with a day for our kids! There will be face painting, live music throughout Old Town, decorations, and even a movie night (Coco)!

October 29th is the annual Day of the Tread, an annual themed bicycling event which goes through Old Town. More info here: https://dayofthetread.com/

October 30th you will be able to enjoy the many decorations throughout Old Town for Dia de Los Muertos!

October 31st – Halloween! Come trick or treat dressed in your favorite costume!

On November 2nd, festivities in Old Town will include events at Plaza Don Luis (https://www.pdlabq.com/) from 4:00 – 6:00 and San Felipe de Neri Catholic Church will have mass & matachines at 7:00 pm.

November 3rd you may hear some live music through the streets of Old Town!

Saturday, November 4th there will be all day events with a car show, possible parade through the streets and in the late afternoon, we’ll see the Poco a Poco patio event!

Finally, on Sunday November 5th, the weeklong celebrations will end with the South Valley parade.

During any of these wonderful Old Town celebrations, stop into Church Street Cafe for refreshments and fun.
